San Diego’s Safe, Sound and Sustainable Recycled Water

In San Diego, recycled water has become a resourceful and useful means of local water supply. The recycled water is used to irrigate fairgrounds, golf courses, parks, as well as school properties. Recently, the Reclamation system was upgraded to include an additional reservoir, as well as more distribution pipelines. The advanced water treatment system has greatly improved the city’s recycled water quality. Additionally, the recycled water salinity levels have been significantly reduced, which is a major benefit for homeowners using the water for irrigation. The arid San Diego area relies heavily on water imported from the Colorado River and Northern California. Recycled water is a constructive way to help the community conserve water. The city has also experimented with capturing urban runoff to protect beaches and lagoons, then redirecting that water to the sewer system for treatment and reuse. Water conservation will remain an important priority for San Diego neighborhoods. Because of this, the city has reinvented the mainstream car washing method by using technology which recycles water and filters it for future use. This technique will save up to three-quarters of the water that patrons would normally use at home. A typical at-home car wash uses approximately 140 gallons of water. Furthermore, the water used at home drains directly into local waterways, along with the chemicals in the water. The water that is not recycled at a public car wash is sent to the sewer system for further processing, safeguarding the waterways and local wildlife from contaminants. San Diego, you’re invited!! Rainy Season and Sewer Drainage Systems

Many of us are experiencing a rainy season now that summer is in full swing.  Along with the sunny delights and fanfare this time of year brings, there is also a need to think about the proper functioning of our drainage systems where we live.  It is important to know to what extent a drainage issue is prevalent.  In order to do this, a qualified fully licensed professional is needed for drain pipe cleaning. This will also maximize your awareness of the health of the pipelines in your home.  Here are a few suggestions when seeking the help of an expert: 1. Get referrals from people you know.  Word of mouth advertising speaks volumes on the overall satisfaction of previous jobs. 2. Check for a license to operate within your state. 3. Do a search for reviews and feedback online.  This will help you in finding your best options. 4. Ask for references. San Diego: Its Sewers and Animals

San Diego: Its Sewers and Animals

There have been a couple of incidents, just this year, of animals getting lodged in sewer openings. Thankfully, they were rescued putting concerned residents at ease. However, not before creating an unwelcomed imagery of what could be loitering in our homes.  But what are the best practices for keeping our animals (and residents) safe in our attractive City?  Since smaller animals, mice and rats for instance, have a better chance of gaining entry into the sewer system, one idea would be to install metal grates for floor drains.  Wouldn’t that be better than the arrival of a ‘pocket pet’ in such an unannounced fashion?  Another suggestion is to monitor sewer laterals for any openings that could potentially give way for rodents to enter. And finally, something else to ponder would be installing flap valves that will remain shut unless water is running through them. These are just a few things to remember to keep our residents happy, underground pipelines functioning and our furry and slithery friends out of the sewer system. Perma-Liner Industries is here to help!  We specialize in pipeline repair and rehabilitation.  Our trenchless technology and Cured in Place pipelining system keeps your landscaping intact.  Call us or go online to www.perma-liner.com    Save the Date!  Mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss this!  On August 19th Perma-Liner Industries is hosting a very special event and we’d love to see you!!  We’re having our Open House at our facility in Orange, CA. and it’s sure to be a great time.  We’ll have our excellent staff here to answer all of your questions about Cured-in-Place Pipeline products and our state of the art trenchless technology.  Come out and see live demonstrations, share friendly conversations and gain information.  Meals will be provided.  Please register at no cost: info@perma-liner.com or 1-866-336-2568.
